Dear Precious World,
I've been watching human interest films recently and they are tugging at my heart. I've been quiet
for too long and it's time to share with you my feelings, my passion, my desires, my anger, my sadness, my happiness, my joy, my pleasure with you. It's not about me, you see, but about us!
Can I make a difference? Can I create understanding and compassion where darkness now lies? Can I cause you to think just a little bit further into your lifestyle? your humanity? your love? Can I challenge you to go to the point of discomfort and take one more step for the sake of our future?
Who do I want to impact? Hmmm....Good question. I want to be heard by many; I want to speak loudly in time and motivate those around me and across our precious lands to consider opening their heart by one extraordinary, miniscule itty-bitty piece of sand. That piece is necessary for peace. I want to be welcomed in any religious community to share how our God is our God--not his or hers or right or wrong. God is God and I am part of this amazing perfection. So, dear precious world, I guess I want to impact you!!!
I can no longer hide my heart strings. I cry for you, oh precious world. I cry for my sisters and brothers who died in the concentration camps, for our children and parents drugged out or frenzied from alcohol or despaired from overwhelming sadness, or stuffing food into their emotional pain, or filling the lungs against the anxieties of unforgiveness, for the children without parents in Africa, for the warlorn countries afar, for the disowned, for those who have the world in their hand without heart, for the people who judge each other, for the religious sects all over the world who truly desire to love God, and who am I to judge. I refuse to say I am right, they are wrong. I refuse to disown the children just because of the generational curses that lie infested in the waters on the ground. I refuse to let sexual or professional or family or religious choice hinder my ability to look into the eyes of another and love compassionately.
I don't find small talk very comfortable; I'd rather sit with you on the sofa snuggled up in a blanket with a cup of coffee. I want to share deep thoughts, spiritual thoughts, God thoughts that conduit down into the fullness of me, of us. I hope there are others who will join in and be a part of my love letters to you, oh precious world.
Someone once told me that I can't change the world. Yes, I can. And here I am. Welcome me, oh Precious World. It took me a long time to come out to play with you-here I am!!!
With Deep Love and Gratitude,
Bethie
